Contacts with the same name in the new Jobs Experience
The original JN process to add a contact allowed you to have multiple people with the same name as long as you modified the "display name" was unique.
When JN first started rolling out the NEW Jobs Experience and modified the process where entering contact info was the first step in creating a new job record, the system would simply add a number "1" automatically to the display name if it matched an existing contact record. Not ideal but you could leave it or modify it after the fact. We always added the town/city to the end of the display name which solved the problem until you had two Bob Smiths in the same town.
Now that everyone is forced to use the new and improved process of entering jobs, when you enter the contact and the name is already in use the only option is to use the existing one OR make there first or last name is unique?? Now you have to go in after the contact and job are created and fix it by altering the display name like we have always done or any document that uses a merge field is going to have Bob1 Smith. Why not just allow users to alter the display name when creating the contact like we used to be able to??

Hi Glenn!
You can just update the first name or last name when you create the contact in the new experience and the display name will automatically update.
Is there a reason this doesn't work for you?
