Permissions for Cost on estimates & invoices
I think that unit costs should be hidden from sales people. If a sales person knows the cost, it hurts their ability to sell. They think there is a huge profit in the job without factoring overhead, etc. For the sales group this should be hidden. A function for profit margin percentage markup on items would be great as well.

Just a comment - take it for what it's worth, after over 15 years as a project manager / estimator / operations manager for a restoration company, we found that our salespeople/estimators that were on commission functioned better when they knew the adjusted cost. We would provide them the costs after we had factored in OH load, freight, etc. Usually an averaged percentage factor depending on the product/service being sold. Their commissions were based on profit margins, and we established a minimum threshold that they could sell at - too many sales below the threshold and they were out. Incentives for selling above the thresholds (higher scaled commissions) - the good salespeople loved it, the ones just wanting to ride around and draw a check hated it and didn't last long. Took quite a bit of effort to get it set up initially but worked great after it was in place. Again, not trying to get in your business but I couldn't help but weigh in.

We agree, we are new to Nimbus and in the set up of our company, we are having to figure out what to do. Show cost and then deal with salespeople selling to cheap because it is easier or hide cost and lose the ability to see the margins they are selling at. Can't it be a button that hides the cost from sales people and leaves the functionality?
Also, I can't see a way to offer a discount. We give our people a cost to sell at and if they feel they need one last thing to close the deal, an ability to give some sort of discount. Senior, military, marketing etc...
