Add Field to Customer Data for "Budget"
scenario:
during the qualification process of a new contact or lead, prior to a detailed line item level estimate, there is often a budget that a prospect has in mind.
during the period before a detailed specification of the project that would lead to a formal estimate, there is currently no way to understand the total value of opportunity pipeline from a proposed budget perspective. this feature would allow me to run a report on total opportunity pipeline and segments that figure versus what had been formally "estimated" through the detailed specification process.
The idea would be to ensure the gap between opportunity pipeline and opportunities quoted/estimated is as small as possible.
It would also allow us to identify the percentage of opportunities lost during that phase due to budget factors which would allow us to identify potential cost and/or pricing issues that may need adjustment to ensure the highest percentage of conversion from initial opportunity pipeline to estimate/quoted pipeline.
This can be accomplished with a custom field for now.
