Companies (parents to Contacts)
• Allows Contacts to inherit attributes from Companies
• Several Contacts under one company
• Associate a Company with a Job
• Communicate with all Contacts under Company at once
This definitely seems like something we would do as part of “Company” support where if only a Company name is added, then it would change to a Company icon rather than a Contact icon.

Dataforma allows you to have a Company separate from your contacts. All the contacts fall under the company. That is a big feature I miss now that we are in JobNimbus.

Also, suggestions. So when someone is added as a contact and certain fields match (email domain, company name) it will prompt you to also add the main company as the primary contact and auto fill as appropriate.

That and when you start to type a company name into the field box on a new contact, options for the company start populating like they do for contacts or assign to. This would cut down on people entering in the same business in different formats. For example X Power & Water Company, Inc vs X Power and Water Co.

We have many contacts who all work for the same company, it would be nice when creating contacts that if we select the company that specific person works for, all the address info will auto populate for the new contact. Business/Company would be the main tier of contacts and individuals within that organization would be a sub tier. You could tie a job to an overall business or to a specific contact or both.

I agree we need a company tab.So we can relate contacts to a company or vice versa. We can also do reports associated by company. We work with companies who have several contacts and divisions within the company

Add ability to copy companies and add new contact to company. Companies should be listed in new record type called Account or similar and relate all contacts with an Account

Currently the system reads contacts as customer (contact)->job.
We manage projects for one customer that involves multiple people. We also provide alternate services to these customers and never communicate about a job based on the contact but instead by the property.I propose changing the entity hierarchy to companies->properties (contacts listed for both company/property->Jobs.
This will allow us to communicate as we normally would in regards to customers.Example:
Customer (Company): CBRE
Properties: 100 main
2394 west way
4857 east wayBoth the company and the property could have contacts assigned to them and jobs would be located exclusively under a property. The way it's set up now, will prevent our team from purchasing JobNimbus despite it being a fantastic tool.

I like the idea you are suggesting; however I see a conflict with how we are currently doing things...
We create Company Contacts where we fill in the company name in the Company Field. Then if we have an abbreviated name or nickname we use for them, we fill that in the Last name Field. The First Name remains blank.
This method makes the Last Name appear on the bottom right corner of all cards created when in the Jobs Boards View. This method is highly beneficial to us.
If JN makes all icons switch automatically based on the way the information is entered, this will cause a problem. I am not really sure why JN would want to do things this way since JN already has a system where users enter contact workflows and user has the option to assign an icon to such workflows. Why wouldn't JN just have the icon the user assigns display with such workflow? (Contact Workflows would have be to choose what type of contact - company, subcontractor, etc)
In either case, we are not talking about the same thing... my request I put in months ago was regarding icons per specific contact workflows (which is comparable to what I discussed above). The request I put in today was for the main display page for JN to allow for an option to change the icon displayed next to the "Contacts" under the Dashboard Icon and the word "Dashboard"

We have multiple clients (companies) that have multiple staff that we deal with. It would be easier to just add a company and then have all the staff as sub-contacts at that company. Right now I just use the tag feature or put the contacts in the description.

Contacts should inherit information from Companies.
