amounts due as a dollar amount $ instead of a percentage%
When entering an invoice and there is the split option on top, it allows only for percentages to be collected, not dollar amounts. Sometimes we collect the deductible up front which is a dollar amount. Or, we will collect an amount upon delivery of materials, but I have to calculate what that percentage is because we cannot put in a dollar amount

Ability to duplicate estimates and save under a different job
It should be a no brainier but it's impossible! I have multiple jobs that I need to create a similar estimate for. I don't want to create an estimate template. I just want to duplicate the estimate and assign to a different job.

Use multiple templates in one estimate
We have very detailed and exhaustive estimate templates built that save us a lot of time creating our estimates. However, sometimes we want to create a separate section in the estimate for a different type of work, etc. It would be great if we could load another template in under that section heading, but as it is now, we just have to build it line by line from that point on.

Ability to add signature line to estimate template (with page breaks!)
We send out a LOT of estimates every year, so it would be extremely cumbersome to generate a new document each time someone approves an estimate in order to create a contract. Instead, we add our contract language to every proposal and have signature lines at the bottom. In most cases, this runs onto two or more pages so we include the estimate number for easy reference below the signature.
That said, we need the customers to be able to esign!! Can we please add this functionality to estimates? It would be extremely helpful to also add pagebreaks to help…

Invoice Term: "Due Upon Completion" and/or "TBD" and/or "Net##" Without a Specific Date
We register a deposit from the customer, the customer wants a receipt, there is no way to email a payment confirmation right? We have to email an Invoice, correct? Well the Invoice only allows for a specific date as the due date, or "Due Upon Receipt (of the Invoice)". We don't know when the actual install is going to happen, so we need "Due Upon Completion" and/or "TBD" and/or "Net##" Without a Specific Date.

Custom Estimate Fields
You have custom work order fields and custom invoice fields but not custom estimate fields. It would be great to have them available on the estimate and then be able to have the option to carry that info to the work order and then to the invoice. There are things that you need to capture on an estimate and be able make them mandatory. It isn't practical to use the custom contact or custom job fields to enter the info because the info may not be known at the time of entering the contact and job info. In the gutter…

the ability to modify column size on estimate and invoice templates
Currently, lots of space is wasted on estimate forms because you cannot modify the item column. It takes up too much space; making an otherwise one page estimate into a two page estimate. I don't like it.

Quicker Estimates Tax Selecting
An easier or quicker way to enter/select the tax city/amount? On a large quote, you have to click the drop down, then scroll down and select the city. possibly allow it to automatically populate with the same as all others and if you don't want a tax amount, allow just a section option within each estimate. Just possible suggestions.

Easier way to add line items between other line items
Have you tried dragging and dropping a new item near the top of the page on a large 30 line or more estimate? It's tedious, and amazingly time consuming, especially since the browser doesn't auto scroll up and follow the dragged item with the cursor. When moving an item above the fold you have to drag it, then drop it, then scroll up, then drag it then drop it, then scroll up. It's like carrying a 100 lb gorilla that is too heavy to carry. So you have to keep setting him down take a breather then carry him again…

Deposit Required Line for Estimates
Is there a way to add a Deposit Value on quotes.
So the sums total would look like this.
Quote Price $10,000.00
TAX $500.00
Sub Total $10,500.00
Deposit Required $5,000.00
Balance Due on Completion $5,500.0023 votesThere isn’t a way to require a deposit at this time on the estimate, but you can add it as a line item and that will help in the meantime until we have more native support of this feature.
We’ll keep you posted!

Totals for Labor & Material Cost shown when editing
The new labor and material split integration is great. However, not showing the total labor and total material at the bottom of the estimate (for us, not the customer) makes it very difficult to find what the totals are. We would have to add up each line item (sometimes 40 line items) to find the total labor cost and total material cost for each estimate. This makes tracking efficiency of estimates very hard when comparing estimate to actual.

Warning When Attempting to Edit, Attach to Contacts/Jobs that are Archived
Have a pop up on Paid and Closed clients when someone attempts to add an attachment?
We are running into an issue with invoices added to the job after it is closed - which we can adjust - but the person needs to be informed it is Paid and Closed so they can contact the office. The pop-up could say, "Paid and Closed Client. Do you wish to proceed?"

Move Invoice and Estimate to different Contact
When there is an error with linking an invoice/estimate/etc to a wrong account, I am unable to find an option to change the "contact" to the correct one when I open up the document. Please make the "contact" field editable like other fields are in JN.

Change Orders
If Change Orders were available (especially if they automatically updated the budget) that would be awesome! Also, if an option for attachments allowed "folders" of some sort, that would be helpful. We use attachments a lot and it gets messy with prints, photos, docs, etc all being in one place.
41 votesWe want to officially support Change Orders soon, but in the meantime most JobNimbus customers are using Work Orders to manage this work.
As for folders, you can vote for that specific feature here: http://jobnimbus.uservoice.com/forums/136212-general/suggestions/6066331-folders-for-attachments
Alternatively, you can use File Types to act as “folders” for your attachments. You can manage your file types by going to Settings > File Types and setting different ones, essentially what would be “Folders”, and then you can use those “folder” names (or file types) to filter your Attachments list based on those “folders”. It actually works pretty well if you have it set up right.
